preventeyeAre you following the rules?!  If not, you may go blind…

If you’ve found your vision suffers after a long day in front of the computer, you’re not alone.  But did you know there is a rule you can follow to get some relief?  The 20-20-20 rule is something simple you can do to relieve digital eyestrain causing:

  • sore, tired or burning eyes
  • blurred or double vision
  • watery or dry eyes
  • headaches

So what is this magical 20-20-20 rule?  It’s easy!  For every 20 minutes of computer work, look away at something at least 20 feet from you for 20 seconds.  That’s it!  And if your schedule allows, use some of those eye breaks to get up and move around – grab a cup of coffee, say hi to a coworker, walk outside and get a breath of fresh air – to not only keep yourself more healthy and active, but increase alertness and lead to higher productivity.
